The cat boat, a beloved Amsterdam landmark, is going from strength to strength and they have recently purchased an entirely new boat funded exclusively by donations. The best part of all is that its open to visitors and completely free although needless to say donations (or purchases from the shop) and hugely appreciated.

Visiting the Catboat is simple; it is less than a 10-minute walk from Amsterdam Centraal, the city's main train station. The Catboat (De Poezenboot) is a unique houseboat that is turned into an animal shelter. It is run by a group of volunteers with a big heart for animals and cats in particular.
